Role and Responsibilities
The role is expected to lead projects in capital market transactions including IPO, M&A and as well as debt / fund raise, manage diligences etc. with the support of the experienced Leadership Team.
Client facing role in which the candidate is required to interact with Founders / Promoters / Directors & Senior Leaders, seasoned third party professionals & investors.
Roles in typical projects include
Set up a project plan in discussion with the client. Together with the client agree roles and responsibilities and boundary limits
Regular tracking of the progress; Report appropriately and escalate when needed
Lead and coordinate with client’s internal resources and external stakeholders such as Merchant Bankers, Legal Counsels, Lenders, Auditors, Investors etc for the flawless execution of the Project
Co-ordination with all stakeholders during documentation such as proposal note, MoUs, SHAs, Term Sheets, DRHP etc.;
Effective conflict management amongst stakeholders
Contribute by being both technically & commercially savvy and understanding the multiple impact areas of all decisions and directions
Lead internal teams, delegate effectively and be responsible for the all deliverables on the project.
Ensure quality control of the project by following an orderly process
Flawless & timely completion of the project
Build and mentor teams
Role will require creating story lines and convert them into deal collaterals (information memorandum, pitch book etc.)
Conduct extensive market & industry research
To succeed in this role, prior experience in the following would be added advantage
Fund raising (debt/equity)
Investor relationship management
Integral part of any strategic initiatives such as Mergers and Acquisition, Divestments, Due diligences, any Capital Market exposures, IPOs etc.
Relationships with financial institutions, agencies and intermediaries
Education, Experience, and Skills
CA/CFA/CMA/CPA or MBA Finance with not more than 5 years post-qualification experience.
Candidates who are part of the Chairman’s office / MDs office with exposure to strategic dimensions of businesses or in investor management or in any capital market transactions
Experience in dealing with Founders/Promoters/Partners/Leadership Team
Reasonably good in advanced accounting and possesses working knowledge on capital markets regulation such as LODR, ICDR, Companies Act & related regulations
Strong on numbers & analytical skills and be commercially astute
Able to handle voluminous data and information load methodically
Intuitive and ability for conflict management
Strong people-management skills including dealing with external agencies
Knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit
Hands-on and be ready to undertake any role within the organisation to get the job done
Proactive and attention to detail and problem solver
High level of ownership and commitment with ability to work independently and under pressure of timelines and resources
Clear communication skills
A good and continuous learner
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing structure / absence of defined structures
Ability to work on multiple projects and to take on additional responsibilities, as when required
Travel / be stationed outside of HQ (reasonable levels) to ensure successful monitoring and closure of transactions
